I’ve lost six followers in five days, two in the past day. WHAT DID I DO DIFFERENTLY?
female fandom friends (particularly those in the marvel/dc/gaming/sci-fi/homestuck/fantasy worlds) (also alliteration), how do you feel you are perceived within your fandom when your gender identity is known (ie, conventions, comic book stores, certain gaming platforms, signings/other vents, etc)? Do you find fandom can be sexist or exclusive? do you feel objectified, dehumanized, or made to feel as though you are “lesser” fans? I’m writing a piece for my English class on women in geek culture and I’d like to hear about the experiences of some other nerdy women!
